Well, worry no more, some things are just a matter of experience, and, well, finding a good source of information.

So, let Nubi Hair be your guide to making peace with your curls and shaping them just the way you want to.

How to Get Perfect Curly Hair in No Time

Woman with curly hair

First things first, it might seem foolish, but before any regime you start to implement, you need to change your mindset. Instead of thinking of your curls as your enemy, you need to accept them as a unique part of your look and your personality.

As soon as you change your attitude, trust us, you will see the difference. Here at Nubi Hair, we always say that a change of perspective is almost 50% of the job.

Once you have accepted your curls as an intrinsic part of you, you can start following the advice towards perfecting your look.

A Pre-Shampoo Treatment Is a Must

You may think that your curly hair is taking too much time as it is, let alone introducing another regimen. But, you’ll have to trust us on this one. Many people who have discovered this, now essential, part of their routine literally swear by it.

If you have curly hair, you are aware that the 101 rule is to moisturize as often and as thoroughly as you can. So, it comes as no surprise that you really need to give this step a second thought. Well, that’s if you want to have the perfect set of curls that can actually be detangled with a hair brush compared to hair curls that no power on earth can separate.

Applying a conditioner or conditioning oil on your dry curly hair will do wonders for the state of your hair. It will feel softer, shinier and more resistant to breakage. The Nourishing Moisturizing Conditioner from Nubi Hair will do all of this and more!

The pre-shampooing process should go in the following manner: you apply the conditioner on dry hair, separate the hair into sections and massage the oil/conditioner as thoroughly as you can into the hair, trying to reach each curl.

Leave the conditioner/oil to do its magic for 20 minutes. During that time, wrap your hair with plastic cap or towel. This will help heat your head, opening the hair cuticles and allowing the product to penetrate deep into the hair.

The result you will get is wonderful, perfectly shiny locks you are definitely going to enjoy.

Pick Your Products Wisely

By now, you have realized that you can’t just use any shampoo or conditioner there is. Your curly hair is sensitive, so it needs to be looked after with care. Avoid all the products that actually remove the oil that is naturally produced on the surface of your head.

Your curly hair literally needs as much oil as it can possibly get, so be sure to have that in mind when you are buying your shampoo, conditioner, or any other product. Finding a brand that you can trust really helps with this, which is why we make all of our ingredients easy to find for every Nubi Hair product.

These ingredients are what you need to look for in a perfect product for curly hair:

Olive Oil

It may seem superfluous to mention all the benefits olive oil can have on both your body and you mind, or, in this case, hair.

It seems that wherever you go you hear the same mantra: Olive oil, olive oil, olive oil!

While that can certainly get old really fast, it is absolutely, undeniably true! For example, only a tablespoon of olive oil on an empty stomach in the morning can do wonders for your health.

Can you then just imagine what it can do to your hair?

It seals the moisture in, which is exactly what your curly hair needs. Olive oil also helps the condition the feel of both your scalp and hair strands. Plus, it improves the feel of elasticity of the hair.

The best evidence to its effect can be seen in the fact that you will be able to dry your hair and easily go through it with a hair brush compared to hair curls you haven’t been able to brush, well, ever.

That sleek, shiny, detangled hair would make your dreams come true!

Argan Oil

Masks with argan oil are everything your curly hair needs to achieve the look of volume and elasticity the aforementioned models on TV and Instagram have. In fact, you’ll find the ingredient in the Nubi Hair Hair Mask.

Always wanted to get control of your curly hair?

Well, now you have a chance to actually achieve it!

Argan oil is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This means that it will provide your hair with the love it needs

Marula Oil

Yes, you heard us right. It is a type of oil that has been around for quite some time. However, it has only recently become all the rage in the hair industry. It is taken from the nuts that are found on the marula tree, which is found in the southern regions of Africa.

Rich in omega-9 acid and other fatty acids, the products with marula oil will really make your curly hair look more beautiful than ever. If in doubt, always try to find a product with marula oil, your hair will be forever grateful.

Apply a Mask Regularly

You should make time and apply a mask at least once a week, in order to keep your curls looking shiny and moisturized. Although many instructions say to apply a mask thoroughly and leave it there for 5 to 10 minutes, you know that these rules don’t apply to you. It is best to leave it on as much as you can. If there is a possibility, it is best to leave the mask overnight.

If you don’t yet have a go-to mask, try the Hair Mask from Nubi Hair. It’s packed with several of the hair-loving ingredients mentioned above!

The morning will bring a new joy, the joy of actually being able to detangle your hair with a hair brush compared to hair curls that gave you so much headache, morning, day and night.

Wash Your Hair in Sections

If you thought washing your curly hair in the same way people with straight hair wash it will help your cause, we are sorry to inform you it definitely won’t.

It will do quite the opposite, actually.

By doing it in the way people with straight hair do it, you will eliminate every possibility of detangling your hair with a hair brush compared to hair curls that are actually being separated into sections during the washing process.

Divide your hair into sections – the thicker the hair, the more sections you are supposed to have. Apply the shampoo on one section at a time, as well as the conditioner. Be sure to apply the products thoroughly, so that each strand is carefully attended. Then rinse in the same way – section by section, from the scalp downwards.

That way, you will prevent your hair from becoming too entangled and prone to breaking. Imagine the effort one has to put to detangle hair like that.

When we talk about the strength of a hair brush compared to hair curls that are tangled beyond belief, you will for sure come to a conclusion that hair brushes won’t be the winners of that duel.

Don’t Wash Your Hair Too Often

This is definitely a rule of thumb for people with curly hair. By washing your hair too often, you are devoiding it of necessary oils and moisture, which keep your curls looking shiny and feeling resistant to breakage. Instead, your hair will look dry and lifeless, with broken strands coming out of nowhere.

On the other hand, applying a bit of conditioner before a shower can really help you out. Just rinse it off shortly and that is it!

Not Every Towel is the Right Pick for You

If you thought your regular bath towel was going to cut it, you were wrong.

A bath towel should be used for drying your body and a microfiber one for your hair. It treats your hair more gently and causes less friction, which consequently leads to your hair having less frizz.

You wrap your hair in the towel and leave it like that until it properly dries.

Don’t forget, it needs to be a micro-fiber one. If you don’t have the possibility of obtaining one, use a soft cotton T-shirt. That will do it.

Anything except a regular towel.

To Blow Dry or Not to Blow Dry?

The answer is – definitely not.

Curls just can’t stand being artificially dried and will make your life a living hell if you try to do that. Detangling blow-dried hair with a hair brush compared to hair curls that have dried naturally is like heaven and earth. It will definitely put you through an unnecessary amount of suffering.

All heat-producing devices will cause breakage of your hair strands. If you still feel you need to dry your hair, then be sure to use the highest-quality blow dryer. Look for one made with tourmaline or ceramic. The Blow Me Away blow dryer from Nubi Hair is the perfect example.

Try shifting to a diffuser. It distributes the heat evenly, causing less frizz. In order to diffuse properly, be sure to start from the bottom and move your way to the top. Continue drying in circular motion while paying attention to the position of the dryer – it needs to be kept at a 90° angle to your head.

Comb Properly

This is maybe the most important piece of advice you can possibly get when it comes to dealing with curly hair. You will have to splurge a bit for a high-quality brush, but it is going to be worth it.

Trust us, there is a world of difference between curly hair brushed with a cheap hair brush compared to hair curls brushed with an quality one. Try to find a wide-tooth comb which will detangle your hair gently with no pulling or raking.

Be sure to follow the section-by-section rule and brush your hair accordingly.

It is best to comb your curly hair when it is wet, while the conditioner is still on. And whatever you do, just don’t make strong pulls or anything similar. Your curls will not take kindly to that. They will take their revenge soon, as early as next morning, when you look at the mirror and see what you have done.

So, gentle strokes are all that is needed.

Again, it is common sense. What is going to look better – hair curls that have been dealt with gentle strokes of a hair brush compared to hair curls that have been dealt with violent pulls?

The former, of course.

Choose the Right Pillowcase

You may wonder – how can a pillowcase be right or wrong?

Oh, let us assure you, it certainly can.

If you fail to pick the right pillowcase, you may have a wide range of problems with your hair, especially people with curly hair.

Your pillow is the place where you spend most of your time. Thus, it is quite plausible that it can influence your hair to a significant level. An ordinary pillow case takes in your hair’s natural oil and causes it to dry and break. The results are lifeless, frizzy curls nothing can fix.

There is, of course, a solution to this – silk pillowcases! They help your hair retain moisture, which is essential for preventing hair breakage. The sleek surface of the pillowcase is what helps your hair move smoothly across the surface, without breaking a single strand. Not only will it help people with curly hair to preserve their locks, but it is also beneficial for preserving other hairstyles such as braids and blowouts.
